Experience of Alexia Lastchenko from Belgium
I spent 8 weeks at Green Lion in Lovina. The first week was an Introduction week and I really enjoyed learning about Balinese culture and getting to know the city of Lovina. The next seven weeks were spent teaching English at a local school. We only taught in the afternoons which was really nice as it meant I could do other activities, such as yoga, during the mornings. The students I taught were very enthusiastic and it was a joy for me to see their smiling faces every day. We had a lot of fun in the learning process, playing games and singing songs in English.
At the Green Lion Center, Komang and her team did their best to make our stay as participants as pleasant as possible. The food is excellent and there is a beautiful pool and garden you can relax in. At the weekends there are opportunities to travel and visit other parts of Bali. During my stay, I got to visit the Ijen Crater in Java and it was a spectacular even if tiring excursion. Overall, it was an interesting experience and one that allowed me to grow and mature as a person.
