The COVID-19 pandemic also leaves it footprint on the communities in Costa Rica, just as everywhere else in the world. Thanks to the containment measures imposed and the backing of a good healthcare system in-country, the people in Costa Rica have been able to keep the outbreak very much under control.

As the tourism sector is one of the most important industries of the Costa Rican economy, the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the population is huge. Especially in and around Esparza, where our TGL centre is located, many people earn their livelihood inside the tourism industry.

To help the people in need; the TGL team in Costa Rica has donated food and detergent to local families who are currently falling through the net. The team in Costa Rica will continue to support their local community during these difficult times where they can.
