Wandering Story: Into Angkor Wat

November 3, 2016

The Green Lion

You will first be met with dense jungle. “Somewhere here are the remains of copious capitals of the Khmer Empire”, you’ll think to yourself as you get close enough to be able to see the clear-cut of Cambodian architecture. Your first impression you will receive after walking across the gallery will be enormous reflective pools that cast the magnificence of Angkor Wat’s most famous structure.

Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia that encloses the remains of the Khmer Empire. It boasts ruins and forests that still have secrets and memoirs from the once powerful empire that ruled the lands.

But the ample sights of Khmer architecture are just one aspect of what has made Angkor Wat so famous. Photographer TOIne BZX (website) travelled to the area and photographed intimate and fleeting moments and scenes thatΒ add onto the beauty of the already magnificent Khmer architecture.
