“The experience from Votey Thavan Luong”

I’m so glad that I was able to spent the past three weeks with the Greenway working as a resource for the Medical Outreach program in Somrong and as a participants in Somrong Public Hospital. The experience was phenomenal; I have not only met so many wonderful and inspirational individuals, but have also became friends with so many amazing people. With the Medical Outreach Program, I was able to better see and gain a better understanding of the disadvantages so many children in rural Cambodia are experiencing. Through this experience, I was able to understand how impact it was to be able to share one of the most essential knowledge of health and hygiene with the most amazing, energetic, hardworking children of Somrong.

Through my shadowing experiences with Somrong hospital, I was able to see the different medicinal and medical aspect in Cambodia. I was able to learn and share my experiences and opinions with my fellow participant (who became my friends) as well as the hospital staff. I have learnt so much the past three weeks and the program has definitely exceeded my expectation! I am indeed very grateful for this opportunity and I could not have asked for a better way to spend my winter vacation! Thanks, Greenway!
