A Colorful Celebration: Holi Festival with Our Participants
This March, we celebrated Holi in Kathmandu, Nepal, with our participants, immersing ourselves in one of the most vibrant and joyous festivals in South Asia. Holi, known as the festival of colors, is one of the most vibrant and joyous celebrations in Nepal and India. Marking the arrival of spring, Holi symbolizes unity, love, and the triumph of good over evil. People come together to throw colors, splash water, dance, and enjoy festive treats, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
We celebrated Holi with our participants, and the excitement was in the air long before the festival even began! Everyone eagerly prepared, stocking up on water pistols and vibrant colors to fully embrace the spirit of the festival.
We kicked off the celebrations at our program house, filling the space with laughter, colors, and joy. After an energetic start, we headed to the heart of the city, where Holi is celebrated in the most electrifying way.
On our way to Basantapur, our group was warmly welcomed—locals enthusiastically smeared colors on them and doused them with water, making for an unforgettable experience. Our coordinators ensured everyone enjoyed the festivities safely while fully immersing in the grand celebration. After witnessing the city’s exhilarating Holi spirit, we returned to the community park, where we continued celebrating with local residents. It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime!
