Cooked & Served with Love

It was a usual week for us in Bali. Selena, a solo traveler from the USA, started her program with us as same as any other participant. She had already made her mind to spend her time in Bali with children. Giving love and care they deserve and making a positive impact in these innocent lives was all she expected to achieve from this trip.
It didn’t take long for the children to be friends with this stranger who visited them from the other side of the globe. Their faces would always light up when she enters the class every single day. Having spent a week with the children, everyone noticed how motivated she was to always make a difference and add value to the collective effort of all of us in the classroom.
Selena decided to do everything she could do for her little friends before she saying goodbye to them. Showering them with love and kindness in the class was not enough for her. So she decided to talk to the teacher and told her that she wanted to cook food for the children and serve them by herself. The teacher couldn’t be happier for Selena’s motive and care for her students. She even requested Selena to use the kitchen at her house to prepare the food.
So Selena’s last week was busier than the former. She would be the first to be ready to go to the school, since she literally had a lot more to do than the other participants. She cooked the food to her heart’s content and served the children with loving smiles. They say food tastes better when made with love, and one could actually witness this in these children’s faces.
Isn’t it amazing to see ordinary souls showing up from nowhere, leaving extraordinary memories in our hearts with just by their acts of kindness.
