I was with Green Lion for about 4 weeks and I had a wonderful time. The staff are very kind and attentive and incredibly helpful when it comes to planning weekends away.

I did the introduction week, teaching monks and village kids, the turtle project in Ambalangoda, and helping at the Preschool and Daycare. Every single project was diverse and incredibly different but equally wonderful and I truly felt that I was doing something to help the community.

Furthermore, I always felt safe and, even though I never had a bad experience and neither did anyone else I met there, I felt that I could easily contact anyone at the Green Lion and they would have helped me in any way possible.

This program is not only a great way to help the Sri Lankan community, but it is also a great way to experience this wonderful country’s culture and meet and become lifelong friends with travelers from around the world.

I highly recommend his program for anyone interested in helping out the community and experiencing Sri Lanka in a different lens.
