The Green Lion
βThe experience of Caroline Elisabethβ
During my time in the Green Lion Kindergarten, I was able to experience a lot of different things. I stayed seven weeks in the Kindergarten in which I tried my best to pass over my knowledge to the kids, in which I saw the progress the children made from one day to another and in which I got to feel a lot of love. Every morning I was welcomed by the children with a nice “Good Morning Maam” or even a huge hug that already made my day.
We always started our day with some prayer and some morning exercises. This way of starting into a new day pleased me a lot. Not just because the children were so sweet while they did the exercises but also because I think it is good to start the day together. In the mornings we taught the children some English. I still remember how astonished I was on my first day in the Kindergarten because the children, some of them are still very young, know a lot already. In terms of passing on my knowledge to them I also did projects on “Garbage & Environment” and “Hygiene”. To make these projects a success it took me not only the willingness of the children to learn something new, but also some support of the Green Lion staff. That was really great and the children enjoyed it a lot. The children were always keen on learning new things, so that was not an issue neither was I feeling like I wasnβt getting enough support of the Green Lion Nepal. Β At any time and with any idea I could come up to them and they would help me work it out.
All in all I am glad I came here and that I had the opportunity to help these cute little children by teaching them everything I knew. I’ve never seen such happy kids before. I would recommend it to anyone, who loves children and wants to do something good, to come here to work in the Green Lion Kindergarten. It was a wonderful time.
