The Experiences of Fatima, 26 years old from Morocco

Palawan Experience is a project in which participants will participate in a local’s daily task by offering their help and support to villagers and learning about their lifestyle starting from the basics of life. I’ve been undergo with the program for 2 weeks and the experience was exhilarating. Every day I woke up bearing in mind that I’ll have to accomplish 2 tasks that I’ve never thought I might do, only to get praise and gratitude from the heart-warming locals after.

Life in the camp is a complete new adventure, the staffs are so friendly, welcoming and caring, and each participant hold a different story. During work and by meal time, participants get to communicate and know each other and during night activities, everyone gets to enjoy good times playing games, going karaoke, setting bonfire on cultural dance. On the weekend, we get to explore more of Palawan’s amazing places such as Puerto Princesa, El Nido, Port Barton and Coron.

This unique experience made me rethink various aspects of life that I was taking for granted, appreciate the hard work, diversity, become more humble and seek more similar experiences. By the end of the program I felt as if I discovered a new part in me, and as I’m leaving this place, the memories engraved within will still with me forever. To the Green Lion and to every person that I have crossed path with during these past two weeks, I cannot thank you enough for the breath taking adventure and the great impressions you left with me.
