TGL Philippines Team | First Aid Training
January 12, 2019
The Green Lion
The new year has just begun and the TGL team in the Philippines has already kicked off their 2019 Ongoing Coordinator Training with a focus on First Aid and CPR. This session was facilitated by the local Palawan Rescue Team 165 and most of the local team members participated in this event.
The good thing is that we have planned in advance to ensure that our team is ready as they can be when responding to the needs of our participants. Our hope is that they can have an enjoyable experience that is safe and memorable during their stay with us.
In this training, we have learned the following:
-
- first aid for broken bones
- first aid for jellyfish stings
- first aid for bites from snakes and other insect
- first aid for cuts and big wounds
- first aid for animal bites such as dogs and cats that could possibly have rabies
- first aid for burns
- what to do if someone is drowning while in the water
- CPR and revival if someone is unconscious after drowning
Our Philippines Country Manager, Glory stated that βThis training will be a great help to our team and to our participants. We hope that we never have an emergency, but at least we are better prepared in case one does occurβ. It will help us in assisting the participants while waiting for the ambulance if something serious did happen. Giving first aid can help a lot especially in our location because we are quite far from the hospital. Quick action can help to reduce the chance of the incident becoming worse.
