COVID-19 is spreading all over the world and Bali was not an exception. In order to ensure the safety of everyone, self-quarantine is important. During the time we are at home, our Bali team, along with our participants, initiated a small effort to help the community in this difficult time. Due to the high demand, on the island of Bali, there is a shortage of face masks in the market. Therefore, our team started making face masks for the community at our centre. We started making masks which can be washed and reused.
Putting the time spent in the quarantine to for a needed cause, participants were also excited to be a part of it. Masks were made with cotton which are washable and reusable. In the first stage, the masks which were made by the team were distributed among the very communities we work within our community development and education programs in Bali.
