Last month, The Green Lion Forum on “Access to Health” Camp brought Faculty and community together to exchange ideas. This camp opened with bold and inspirational βlightningβ on βhealthβ through campus and community experts, followed by a dialogue and refreshments among faculty, staff, students and community members. We believe individuals should get a health check-up done on a regular basis to solidify their good health and wellness.
The Green Lion India organized a free medical health check-up camp for hostel students on 11th to 15th March 2019 at Mahila Parishad Udaipur. The camp was organized for the students of Udaipur who are from poor living conditions. The rural area always lacks basic necessities of life, such as clean water, electricity and sanitation. After a hard and low-earning working day, most of the parents cannot even fulfil their family’s basic needs and due to these problems, they are not able to think about their health. To assist them overcome these problems a free health-check up camp was organized by The Green Lion India for 5 days. The camps focused on detection and treatment for acute illnesses, provision of health education and spreading awareness about mental and physical health.
Services like free physical examination and health awareness sessions were delivered with the assistance of the hospital staff including a General Physician and the camp coordinator. 21 Young girls from the Mahila Parishad (Hostel) attended the checkup. Medicines were also offered in addition to free medical consultation to the attendees.Β On the 5th day, they enacted whatever was taught about health awareness, such as enacting as a doctors and patients.
