Donating Dry Rations for Pregnant Women

Dry ration food packs were donated to a selected group of pregnant women in the Kandy district.

Shelter for Community Dogs during Lockdown

Community dogs are a common sight in Sri Lanka. People care for the stray dogs in the community, feed them and look after them when they are sick. There are no particular owners for these dogs. During the covid-19 pandemic, Sri Lanka went under complete lockdowns numerous times. As a result, these dogs were left hungry with no one feed them because people are not allowed outside. Various groups and organizations have taken efforts to feed community dogs all over the island.

The Green Lion team in Ambalangoda took a number of community dogs into our care during the lockdowns. We set up a temporary dog shelter at the beach to take care of the dogs, especially the sick ones, during lockdowns.
